Website design: FAQs
How much do you charge for a website?
It really depends on the kind and size of website you need.
Every website is different and we price each project as a one-off
according to how long it will take us to complete the design and
development.
The best place to start is by contacting us to let us know a little bit
about yourself and the sort of website you want. We'll call you
back and have a chat about your needs, at which point we'll have a
good feeling for the likely project cost.
I'm working to a tight budget. Will you be too expensive for
me?
Not at all - and in fact it's often very helpful to know your
budget early on in the process so that we can specify a website for
you which will hit the spot without costing the earth.
You might also want to investigate Papertree123, our website design service
aimed at small businesses, start-ups and organisations looking to
take the next step with their digital marketing.
How does the process work?
It's vital to scope and specify a website accurately and
clearly. We'll work closely with you to make sure that we really
understand why
you want a website, what it needs to do and how it fits in with
your wider marketing and outreach.
We'll prepare a detailed proposal with costs on a modular basis,
so you can pick from a range of options to build just the site you
need for the right price.
If you like what we have to say, we'll draw up a functional and
technical specification document which will act as the core piece
of project paperwork, and we'll provide a project plan with dates
and milestones.
It might sounds like a lot of documentation but we take project
management seriously. This is your website and your budget, and we
want to make sure that we get it right for you the first time.
Do you do ecommerce websites?
Yes.
What about support and hosting?
We can handle everything. Design, website build, website and email
hosting, domain management, ongoing support and
development.
Many of our customers have been with us for years and appreciate
the help and support we give them. We're never more than a phone
call or email away.
When we propose a costing we'll include figures for hosting,
support and maintenance for the first year and for subsequent years
so that you can budget for all ongoing costs. We'll provide a
detailed service level agreement, too, so that it's clear what
service you can expect from us once the site goes live.
What is my commitment?
Once we have agreed a project cost and scope, we'll ask for a
small percentage of the project fee up front. The balance will be
invoiced once you have signed off the website and it goes live.
Thereafter, we will invoice on an annual basis for ongoing
hosting and support, and on a per-project basis for any post-launch
development work. Your agreement with us runs for one year at a
time.
How do I make sure that my website keeps up?
Change is constant on the web. We scan the horizons so that you
don't need to, and will pass on any juicy tips or good practice
recommendations that come our way. There's no charge for this. We
just like to make sure that you're making the most of the web,
today and tomorrow.
And if you need to change the way your site works a few months
down the line, that's great. We're ready when you are!
