Case studies: St David's Hall
Website design and content management for the national concert hall of Wales.
We have enjoyed a long relationship with St David's Hall which
stretches back almost a decade to when we produced their first
standalone website. Since then we've been lucky enough to work with
the team at the Hall on emarketing and on the redevelopment and
redesign of their website.
What we did
For the redesign we took the website back to basics and looked
at how the Hall were using the site. What worked well and not so
well about the old site? What could we do better? What information
was missing from the site? How did their content management system
work for them? What did they wish they could do with their site?
How did their visitors use the site?
We proposed a data structure for the dynamic pages. We presented
visual concepts. We suggested interesting ways to present the
events - in a scrolling pane or as crossfading banners. And we went
back to the drawing-board once or twice.
As for all StageManager clients, we delivered a CMS
optimised specifically for the Hall, with data entry options
streamlined to the requirements of their seasons and events. We
introduced video playback, image galleries, event recommendations,
an interactive calendar feature, event-linked banner rotation and
more.
We also produced a suite of email templates which the Hall use
to market their events through our MailManager email marketing
tool - and we're currently working with the team on a number of
exciting digital projects for 2011 and beyond.
